Blue skies and snow at 1800m

Driving over the Tizi 'n Test yesterday from Taroudant to Imlil at the foot of Toubkal, the highest peak in the Moroccan High Atlas, the views were stunning.

Taking a break at the cafe just before the tizi on the south side, the views of Jebel Flillis were very clear, revealing some of the biggest cliff faces in the whole of the Atlas range.

Once over the pass at 2100m, the views of the Tagharat plateau along with Toubkal's neighbouring 4000m peaks were again beautiful.

Imlil 1740m, the main village in the deep Mizane valley, was in shade by 3pm and with snow in the carpark of the Hotel Soleil, another cold night was in store....
